The Lord Smites Egypt and Later Heals It (19:1–25)
Isaiah |
19 1A prophecy against Egypt: and the idols of Egypt will tremble at His presence, |

2And I will provoke Egyptian against Egyptian, and everyone against his neighbor, city against city, 3And the spirit of the Egyptians will be emptied from within, and they will seek the idols 4And I will deliver the Egyptians into the cruel masters, |

5And the waters of the sea will dry up, 6And the rivers will become foul, The reeds and rushes will wither; everything that is sown by the Nile will dry up, 8And the fishermen will mourn, 9Those who work with flax that is combed will be ashamed, 10And its foundations will be crushed, 11Surely the officials of Zoan are fools; How can one say to Pharaoh, |

12Where are they? Let them tell you now 13The officers of Zoan have become fools; They have caused Egypt to err, 14The LORD has mingled within it a spirit of confusion, 15And there will be nothing for Egypt 16In that day the Egyptians will be like women, because of the uplifted hand of the LORD of Hosts, 17And the land of Judah will be a terror to Egypt, because of what the LORD of Hosts is planning against it. |

18In that day there will be five cities in the land of Egypt speaking the language of Canaan and swearing to the LORD of Hosts. |

it will be said of one of them. 19In that day will there be an altar to the LORD in the midst of the land of Egypt 20And it will be for a sign and for a witness unto the LORD of Hosts in the land of Egypt, for they will cry unto the LORD because of oppressors, and He will send them the Savior, 21And the LORD will be known to the Egyptians, and they will worship with sacrifice and offerings, 22And the LORD will smite Egypt; and they will return to the LORD, 23In that day there will be a highway from Egypt to Assyria, and Egypt into Assyria, 24In that day will Israel be the third with Egypt and with Assyria, 25The LORD of Hosts will bless them, saying, |
