Abstract | The Book of Mormon is Another Testament of Jesus Christ. Studying the Book of Mormon along side the Bible brings depth in understanding gospel principles. In 3 Nephi 24:8–10, Israel is commanded to pay tithes and offerings, a commandment Christ gave during his ministry in Jerusalem where he shared the story of the widows mite. This second witness is a testimony to me the importance of offering tithes. In this painting the worn torn hands represent hard work. The hands gently offer up a tithe, represented as two mites. The tithe is cupped with a second hand to represent a sacred offering; giving back to the Lord a small portion of what He so freely gives. Tannea Zollinger grew up near Calgary, AB, Canada. At an early age, she gained a love for art, animals, nature, hard work and the gospel. Since graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts, she has shown her work in various cities in Canada and the USA. Recently, Tannea has felt the desire to paint Christ centered works, as her family strives to create a Christ centered home. She is currently at the conclusion of her Master in Teaching program and plans to teach Art. Her hope is that through her teaching, she can help children discover their infinite worth. Submitted to the 2020 Book of Mormon Central Art Contest. |
