Abstract

The Book of Mormon is Another Testament of Jesus Christ. Studying the Book of Mormon along side the Bible brings depth in understanding gospel principles. In 3 Nephi 24:8–10, Israel is commanded to pay tithes and offerings, a commandment Christ gave during his ministry in Jerusalem where he shared the story of the widows mite. This second witness is a testimony to me the importance of offering tithes. In this painting the worn torn hands represent hard work. The hands gently offer up a tithe, represented as two mites. The tithe is cupped with a second hand to represent a sacred offering; giving back to the Lord a small portion of what He so freely gives.
