Sign of the Prophet Jonas
Three days Jesus’ body lay
in a temporary tomb,
dark as the belly of a fish,
terrible as ocean depths where bands
of death wrapped about Jonah’s head.
Staying tempests of destruction,
rising from corruption, He showed
a Nineveh-wicked world
that salvation is of the Lord.
