Abstract | Prophetic records, such as the brass plates, are important for the preservation of God’s people. This article discusses the possible origins and the contents of the plates of brass. Gospel teachings of Israelite prophets not mentioned in the Bible (Zenos, Zenock, Neum, and Ezias), who were descendants of Joseph, show that the witness of Christ in the brass plates is more explicit than in our Old Testament. The Joseph Smith Translation of the Bible may, in fact, “contain some of the information found on the plates of brass.” |
