Abstract | Submitted to the 2021 Book of Mormon Central Art Contest – Youth Division. Age: 14 This painting depicts a Pioneer Camp, the way I envision the pioneers setting up their evening campsite. Wagons in a circle for protection. A blazing campfire for warmth and to cook their meager meals. This fourteen-year-old is a budding artist who is self taught. She has not had professional art lessons. When she was a sixth grader she was given an assignment in school to complete a visual about a famous person. She chose the famous artist Bob Ross. Her teacher was impressed with her recreation of one of his works, and this artist's love of painting was born. She continues to challenge herself and has created over 30 pieces in the 3 years since. |
