Abstract | Makes an analogy between the shot put of an athlete and the scripture that states that “blindness came by looking beyond the mark” (Jacob 4:14). The mark needs to be faith in Jesus Christ. Replacing faith in the Savior with other goals, including pursuing the mysteries, pride, and reading scriptural commentaries only is the downfall of mankind. |
