Abstract | The name Nephi most likely derives from an Egyptian word (nfr) which means “good,” “goodly,” “fine,” or “fair.” It seems that Nephi, in the introduction and conclusion of his writings, used a pun on his own name to emphasize the goodness of his father, the goodness of God, and the goodness of his record. |
