Abstract | A number of evidences support that Joseph Smith was a man of upright character. His personal documents, reports from those who knew him well, and his willingness to sacrifice and even die for his beliefs all help confirm that he was a moral and sincere man. Although gaining a spiritual witness of Joseph Smith’s divine calling as a prophet is imperative, these evidences can help fortify faith and defend against negative commentary about his life or character. |
