Abstract | When reading through the Book of Mormon, one finds references to many different parts of the Old Testament, presumably quoted from the plates of brass. This poses the question: What parts of the Old Testament were on the plates of brass? They likely contained some version of Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, Deuteronomy, Joshua, Judges, 1–2 Samuel, 1–2 Kings, Isaiah, Hosea, Amos, Micah, Nahum, Habakkuk, and Zephaniah, Jeremiah, Psalms, and Proverbs, as well as some lost texts quoted in 1 Chronicles, Nehemiah, Job, Ecclesiastes, Ezekiel, Joel, and Malachi. They also contained the writings of Zenos, Zenock, Neum, and Ezias, now lost to us. |
