Abstract

Although trials usually do not prompt us to be thankful, the Book of Mormon shows that times of trial are the best times to give thanks. When Lehi was travelling through the desert, and his family was suffering greatly, he gave thanks to the Lord when he arrived at a river of water. Later Nephites also gave thanks during times of warfare. These examples show us how we can also be grateful during times of hardship and war.
