Abstract | Lehi’s final blessing and counsel to his posterity follows a similar model found in later Jewish traditions about the patriarchs. This model was based on Jacob’s blessing of his sons in Genesis 49. As the first Book of Mormon patriarch, Lehi becomes the model that is followed by later Book of Mormon prophets. All these patriarchs serve as an example and model to follow for fathers and patriarchs today. |
