Abstract | The historical era recorded in 4 Nephi was one of the most blessed and peace-filled times in the entire Book of Mormon. However, Mormon’s short summary of this period may cause readers to wonder exactly how the Nephites were able to maintain peace for such a long period of time. One important factor was surely the transformative power of Christ’s influence on those who personally witnessed His ministry and felt His resurrected body. Those who personally interacted with Jesus Christ would have shared these stories with future generations as they met together to partake of the sacrament. And as succeeding generations faithfully partook of the sacrament for themselves, they would have felt the love and peace of Christ’s presence in their own lives. |
