Abstract

The Lord told Isaiah to “make the heart of this people fat, and make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes—lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and be converted and be healed.” When he asked how long this would last, he was told it would last until after everything was destroyed. In 3 Nephi 11, after everything had been destroyed, Mormon notes that the Nephites finally saw, and heard, understood, and were converted and healed. Everything in the Book of Mormon had been leading up to this moment.
