Abstract

The Hebrew word wayehi is translated as “and it came to pass” numerous times in the King James Version of the Old Testament, but occurs even more frequently in the Hebrew Bible, since the King James Version translators also used alternate translations of the term. Its frequent repetition in various passages of the Book of Mormon is “further evidence [of] ties to the Hebrew language” that Joseph Smith would have been unaware of.
