Gilead

The brother of Shared (who was killed in his attempt to take the Jaredite kingdom from Coriantumr). Gilead then commanded the armies and brought them again against Coriantumr but was defeated and driven into the wilderness of Akish. Coriantumr laid siege to him there until he broke through and claimed the Jaredite throne.

Using his secret combinations, Gilead received strength to his forces for the next two years but never returned to battle - he was assassinated by his high priest.
