Fear Not, I Am With Thee

Submitted to the 2021 Book of Mormon Central Art Contest.

I don't presume to know the face of the Savior, but I do know his hands. They are always reaching out to the lost, weary, and afraid. They lift those that can no longer stand and embrace those that need comfort. They bless, and strengthen, and make those who believe in Him whole. They are rough from use. Not only from being a carpenter but from going about doing his Father’s work. And they are scarred, bearing the proof of his love and sacrifice for each and every one of us.

Sometimes I struggle to feel loved, and to trust the Lord. But that's what he's asking of us. He's holding out his hand, waiting for us to take hold, and trust him! We don't need to fear because he will always be with us, we can have faith in that.

The artist has loved art for as long as she can remember. She was constantly painting, crafting, or drawing as a child; so much so that she was dubbed "the tape queen" by her relatives. She continued to cultivate her talents with the encouragement of her family.

Right before her grandpa died, he told her, “Never give up your art," because he believed in her.

At a time when she was struggling, she was encouraged by the Spirit through the scriptures to paint.

All she wants is to help others feel the Spirit through her art.
