Abstract

Honorable Mention in the 2017 Book of Mormon Central Art Contest

This particular submission is entitled, "Do You Not See Them?" and stands as my personal witness and testimony of the reality of angels in our life. It corresponds to Moroni 7:27-33, which states: "Wherefore, my beloved brethren, have miracles ceased because Christ hath ascended into heaven? Behold I say unto you, Nay; neither have angels ceased to minister unto the children of men. And by so doing, the Lord God prepareth the way that the residue of men may have faith in Christ, that the Holy Ghost may have place in their hearts, according to the power thereof; and after this manner bringeth to pass the Father, the covenants which he hath made unto the children of men. And Christ hath said: If ye will have faith in me ye shall have power to do whatsoever thing is expedient in me."

The title itself is inspired by a quote from the 2011 film, "Jane Eyre." Jane is the protagonist who experienced a harsh and lonely childhood. When sent to a new school, she befriends one Helen Burns who acts as a personal angel to her in her darkest moments at that point of her life. When Jane expresses her desire for love and friendship and claims she'd do anything for it, Helen responds by saying: "You are loved. There’s an invisible world all around you - a kingdom of spirits commissioned to guard you, Jane. Do you not see them?"

God is our loving Heavenly Father, He will never leave us in darkness without sending us His light and love. He will never leave us on our own. He always tries to speak to us. He always tries to reach us. He does so through His angels: people here and beyond the veil. God be thanked for the angels of my life.
