Abstract | Submitted to the 2021 Book of Mormon Central Art Contest – Youth Division. Age: 14 My inspiration for this painting was from Doctrine and Covenants 13 and JS–H 1:63-76. Oliver Cowdrey is the shorter one with brown hair, Joseph is the taller one with lighter hair. The painting shows when Joseph was baptizing Oliver Cowdrey. I wanted to portray how important that event was to the church. And how important it still is. I used oil paints for my medium. The actual size is 8 by 10 canvas. The artist is a self-taught artist. She paints landscapes and nature and hopes that one day she'll become a commissioned professional artist. |
