Abstract | While ferrying across the Illinois River on the border of Scott and Pike Counties, IL, members of Zion's Camp discovered the so-called Zelph Mound--Naples-Russell Mound #8, Pike County, IL. This occurred during the time of June 2-3, 1834. This view shows the trail continuing west from the Illinois River. It is likely the actual route they followed at this point because it runs between two Native American burial mounds. |
