Abstract | In 3 Nephi 10, Christ uses an analogy to teach and remind the people who he is, that he's our Lord and Savior and our Deliverer. He uses the analogy three times with a slight variation in his words saying, ""How oft have I..."", ""How oft would I have..."" , and ""How oft will I... gather you as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings."" I really love how in those three times, he reminds us that He's been with us and delivered us before, he's been there in those times when we wouldn't go to him and he will always be there to help us in our future as well, if we are willing to go to him. His arm (or his wing) is outstretched still. Because of Christ's Atonement we can find peace during the storms in our lives. His Atonement doesn't make it so we never have trials or never feel sorrow, but he suffered for us so our pain and our sorrows will not be as great, if we come to him. Our feet may still get cold and wet during those storms, but we can find peace, warmth and protection under his wings from the greater forces and affects of the storm. He can make our trials small and our burdens light. Submitted to the 2020 Book of Mormon Central Art Contest. |
