The Burning Bush
The bush, unconsumed,
blazed with brightness
of the Tree of Life,
with holiness of flaming sword
and angels that guard the way.
The incense-sweet smoke
from the fire of God’s presence
infused the prophet’s cloak,
and the words He spoke
burned into his heart.
When Moses withdrew,
he knew the voice
of the great I AM
and how to fashion
golden cherubim
who would grace
the mercy seat.
