Abstract | Sorenson’ premise is that coming to Christ consists of more than just simply being baptized. Instead, coming to Christ is a life long effort and commitment. He uses 2 Nephi 25:23 and 2 Nephi 31:21 to demonstrate that it is only through Christ that we can be saved. He also uses Mosiah 18:13 to show how the Nephites conducted baptism. He also cites 2 Nephi 31:17-21 to teach that baptism is just the gateway along the path toward the end goal of eternal life. He also cites 1 Nephi 22:25, 2 Nephi 2:25, Alma 26:5-7, Mormon 9:27 and Moroni 6:4 in support of his thesis. |
