Abstract | The Book of Mormon’s use the term “familiar spirits” is related to the ancient practice of necromancy that was forbidden by God in the Old Testament. However, instead of condoning this practice, the Book of Mormon turns it on its head, showing how the God of Israel can allow the dead to speak to the living in a righteous and holy way. |
