Abstract | Along with the Book of Mormon, Joseph Smith found a set of Nephite interpreters as well as a breastplate. Numerous eyewitness accounts, which share a general consistency concerning the shape and appearance of these objects, help to confirm their reality. Because it is historically unlikely that Joseph would have possessed such peculiar objects unless he found them, their very existence helps support the reality of the plates, which were buried along with them. |
