Abstract

This lithograph was based on a painting Christensen sent to Denmark; it was produced by a firm that had printed Latter-day Saint literature since 1850. CCA's family and his agents sold copies in various Utah towns. The location of the original painting is unknown. The tightness of detail and the classicizing of the costume probably reflect the style of an artist/lithographer, in contrast with Christensen's more simple and direct art.
