Abstract | In 1832, the Lord commanded the Saints to establish a school “for their instruction in all things that are expedient for them.” This school promoted both secular and spiritual education. A number of Book of Mormon prophets provide admirable examples of how secular learning can help support spiritual faith. By carefully studying their lives, we can better understand the principles that the Lord introduced to the early Saints. |
