Abstract | As part of His message of redemption, Jesus declared, “how oft have I gathered you as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings.” Jesus can be meaningfully compared to a mother hen in His role as Creator, in His ongoing efforts to gather and unify His people, and in His atoning sacrifice, which shelters and protects His people from the terrible consequences of sin and death. All who willingly gather unto Him will be immediately included with His children and encircled in the arms of His love. |
